Everything You Need to Know

The Soprano Titanium is an advanced laser hair removal platform designed to deliver effective hair reduction with a comfortable treatment experience. Its large applicator helps speed up sessions, while Ice Plus cooling continuously cools the skin throughout treatment. The system combines three laser wavelengths so settings can be adapted to different skin tones and treatment areas.

Laser wavelengths

Laser wavelengths are measured in nanometres and determine how deeply the light travels into the skin. The Soprano Titanium combines three wavelengths in one handpiece, allowing the treatment settings to be adjusted for the client and treatment area.

Alexandrite – 755 nm: commonly used for paler skin tones.
Diode – 810 nm: suitable for a broad range of skin tones, including olive tones.
ND:YAG – 1064 nm: the deeper wavelength used safely for darker skin tones.

Before, During & After

Precare

  • Avoid the sun 2 weeks before treatment
  • Avoid bleaching, plucking or waxing hair for at least 4 weeks before treatment
  • Do not use depilatory creams 1 week prior to treatment
  • If you have a history of cold sores, Zovirax may be used prior to the treatment and continued one week after treatment
  • The use of tanning cream must be discontinued two weeks before treatment
  • Shave 24-48 hours before treatment
  • Avoid shaving on the day of treatment and avoid applying creams/ deodorant and perfumes

During treatment

  • For upper-lip treatment, gauze may be used to protect and support the area.
  • Cooling is used throughout treatment to protect the skin and improve comfort.
  • Both client and therapist wear protective eyewear during the procedure.

Aftercare

  • Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal treatment methods (waxing, electrolysis or tweezing) that will disturb the hair follicle at the treatment area for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Shaving is allowed between treatments
  • Shedding of the surface hair may occur anywhere from 5-19 days after the treatment, and this can appear as new hair growth. This is NOT new hair growth. You can clean and remove the hair by washing or wiping the area with a wet cloth or loofah sponge
  • For 24 hours after the underarms are treated, avoid deodorant and use a powder instead in order to reduce skin irritation
  • Avoid hot baths and heat treatments and treat the skin gently, as if you had sunburn, for the first 24 hours

Laser FAQs

What is laser?

Laser hair removal uses controlled pulses of light to target the hair follicle and achieve long-term hair reduction.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser can produce significant long-term reduction. Hormonal changes, pregnancy, menopause and some medications can stimulate new growth, so maintenance top-ups may still be needed after a course.

What laser does MBK Medspa use?

The clinic uses the award-winning Soprano Titanium system, selected for effective results and a more comfortable treatment experience.

How is the Soprano Titanium different to other machines?
  • Designed to be virtually pain free.
  • Suitable for a wide range of skin tones, including tanned skin when clinically appropriate.
  • Fast treatment times.
  • Ice Plus cooling for additional comfort.
  • Three wavelengths combined in one platform.
Is laser painful?

Soprano Titanium is known for being much more comfortable than many traditional laser systems, with continuous cooling used throughout treatment.

Why should I choose MBK Medspa?

Meliz has years of hands-on laser experience and has treated thousands of clients. Her approach focuses on effective treatment while making clients feel comfortable and preserving dignity throughout each appointment.

What should I expect to see with laser hair removal?

Hair usually begins to shed around two weeks after a session. Over a course of treatments, growth should become slower, finer and less dense.

What are the benefits of laser?
  • Long-term hair reduction.
  • Less time and money spent on repeated hair-removal methods.
  • Reduced ingrown hairs.
  • Improvement in the appearance of strawberry dots.
  • Smoother-looking skin texture.
How old do I need to be to have laser?

Treatment is generally for clients aged 18 and over. In exceptional medical circumstances, younger clients may be considered with appropriate medical documentation and consent.

Is laser safe for darker skin?

Not every laser can safely treat every skin tone. Soprano Titanium combines wavelengths, including ND:YAG, so treatment can be adapted safely for darker skin tones.

Is laser safe?

The Soprano Titanium platform is FDA approved and CE marked. A consultation and patch test are used to check suitability before treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

The number varies by client and treatment area. A course of around 8–12 sessions is commonly advised, followed by maintenance top-ups when required.

How often are top ups performed?

This depends on the individual. Some clients return every few months, while others only need a maintenance session once a year.

Can I sunbathe in-between my laser sessions?

Allow around two weeks after a laser session before sunbathing, avoid sun exposure 14 days before laser treatment, and avoid sunbeds.

Can I have laser if I have tattoos?

Yes, but tattoos cannot be lasered directly. They must be covered and the laser is used around them.

Is it possible to laser around the eyebrows?

For eye safety, treatment is limited to the area between the eyebrows rather than directly around the brows.

Can I have laser if I am pregnant or breast feeding?

Treatment is postponed during pregnancy. Clients are generally advised to wait several months after giving birth so hormones have time to settle before starting or resuming laser.

Will certain medication prevent or affect laser?

Yes. Always tell your therapist about medication or medical changes before and during your course so suitability can be reviewed safely.

Lasering PCOS clients

Laser can be very helpful for thick or stubborn hair associated with PCOS. Because hormonal hair growth can be persistent, additional sessions or maintenance treatments may be required.
